Watch on
We promised a spectacle, and we delivered a spectacle. The extraordinary FNC 12 event at the Pula Arena concluded with a spectacular showdown in which Ivan Vitasović (31, 12-5-1) successfully defended his heavyweight Fight Nation Championship title for the second time with a technical knockout in the third round against one of Europe's finest fighters, Michal Andryszak (31, 25-11). Additionally, we crowned our first champions in the light heavyweight and welterweight categories.
Two new Fight Nation Championship champions emerged
The MMA evening was elevated by the performance of Stjepan Hauser, a global mega-star who played the soundtracks from the movies 'Gladiator' and the series 'Game of Thrones' to a standing ovation from the audience. With that he announced the start of his world tour, commencing on October 29th at the Zagreb Arena.
The main event of the evening was opened by Bojan 'Želva' Kosednar (40, 12-15) and Aleksandar Janković (29, 16-12), delivering an exceptional first round. Unfortunately, early in the second round, the Slovenian fighter suffered an injury and had to be carried out on a stretcher. Following that, we witnessed top-notch three rounds, after which Itay Tratner (22, 9-5) secured a unanimous decision victory over the former featherweight champion, Daniel Bažant (32, 7-6).
Nikola Joksović (28, 12-2) dominantly claimed the inaugural welterweight title of Fight Nation Championship with a technical knockout in the second round against Marko Kisič (30, 9-4). The co-main event of the evening went all the way to the fifth round, and Matej Batinić (31, 20-5) secured a submission victory over Gadzhimurad Khebdeev (31, 8-1) to become the inaugural champion of FNC in the light heavyweight category.
Minev 'put Travnicek to sleep,' 'Il Capo' surprised Sinani
In the first fight of the evening, Fran Luka Đurić (19, 3-2) quickly submitted the late replacement, Matej Šimić (19, 1-1). Roman Hulla (31, 2-1) was not as fortunate as he injured his ankle at the start of the match, conceding victory to Andres Ramos (29, 2-0). The third fight of the evening provided an excellent match, where the underdog, Alessandro Capone (25, 4-4), surprised everyone by securing a second-round submission victory over Demahmet Sinani (20, 2-1). Prelims of the event concluded with a thrilling match in which Rusi Minev (26, 3-0) choked out David Travnicek (28, 2-1) in the third round after numerous twists and turns.
