FNC Pre Fight Exclusive: Kovačević victorious in the best fight of the evening, Perković suffers defeat

We had the FNC Pre Fight Exclusive event leading up to the upcoming FNC 14 in Sarajevo, where we watched seven excellent amateur matches. The fight of the night was between Denis Kovačević and Furkan Yalcin, and the Croatian fighter emerged victorious with an excellent performance. In the main event of the amateur part of Pre Fight Exclusive, Serbian fighter based in Germany, Mirco Lemaić, won by decision against Marko Perković.

Mirco Lemaic def. Marko Perković via unanimous decision

The Serbian fighter based in Germany looked a bit less polished than our familiar Marko Perković 'Thompson' when he entered the cage, but once again, we learned that looks can be deceiving. Lemaic secured a takedown with a suplex in the first round, dominating on the ground and taking the round, but he couldn't finish his opponent. The second round was a stand-up battle where both fighters had something to showcase, but Perković landed slightly better strikes. However, in the third round, Lemaic once again took control on the ground and ultimately deservedly won by unanimous decision.

Petar Blagojević def. Rino Rosandić via unanimous decision

While the previous three matches featured a lot of action, in this bout, we saw more tactical exchanges over three rounds. However, in the end, Bosnian-Herzegovinian fighter Petar Blagojević emerged victorious by unanimous decision.

Nikola Dimovski def. Gaj Muršec via submission (guillotine choke), R1

The Montenegrin fighter also felt 'at home' in the pre-fight exclusive, and Muršec managed to hit him twice with a straight right before attempting to take him down. However, Dimovski locked in a guillotine, and when the Slovenian fighter tried to shake him off with a takedown, he only created bigger problems for himself, leading to Dimoski's victory with an excellent guillotine.

Denis Kovačević def. Furkan Yalcin via unanimous decision

After his outstanding performance in the last pre-fight exclusive, Denis Kovačević did it again this time. Against a Turkish fighter based in Germany, he showed immense heart, losing the first round. Yalcin, who was visibly larger than the Croatian fighter didn't make the weight. However, Kovačević demonstrated good cardio, landing effective strikes in the second round and taking Yalcin's back. In the third round, he ended up on the ground once, but he then took control, dominating with his ground game and securing the victory. In the end, Furkan ran out of gas, and Denis took advantage, bringing the match to a conclusion and claiming the win.

Zaur Achmadov def. Mario Glasnović via unanimous decision

In the last preliminary match, we witnessed an excellent bout between Mario Glasnović and Zaur Achmadov. The Turkish fighter, who trains at Basic Sportsclub with Marko Kisić and his coach Buljubašić in his corner, dominated the three rounds. Achmadov proved to be the superior fighter both in striking and on the ground, landing several effective strikes throughout the match. In the end, he rightfully secured all three rounds on the judges' scorecards.

Duje Vuković def. Boris Nenić via submission (RNC), R1

The fighter from the Zagreb-based American Top Team, after his performance in the last pre-fight exclusive, returned for another and secured a more convincing victory. He pressed Nenić with strikes right from the start, followed by ground and pound after a takedown, and then took his back during a scramble, inserting two hooks with his legs. Although Nenić attempted to reverse the position, it only played into Vuković's favor, who secured the victory in the final seconds of the first round.

Zvezdan Đukić def. Ivan Batur via TKO, R1

From the first second, this fight was a one-way street. The Montenegrin fighter took the initiative, brought Batur to the ground in front of his corner, listened to advice, took his back, and forced referee Ilija Lučić to stop the match with strikes from the back.
